Disneyland Challenge Day 05: Your Favorite New Orleans Square Attraction

Oui! This one is really tricky. While I enjoy Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion, neither one of them is really one I can consider ‘favorite.’ Honestly I could go to the parks for the day and not ride either of these attractions. I know, I know, how horrible of me. And I appreciate them. The last two rides that Walt Disney ever had a personal hand in helping to develop, I don’t forget that. They just… dare I say… bore me. So I am going to cheat a little. My favorite “attraction” that resides in New Orleans Square is The Disneyland Dream Suite. I had the lucky fortune of staying there for a night this summer with my aunt, uncle, and cousins and it was the greatest thing that I have ever experienced. We stood out on the patio that overlooks NOS and people watched, only a few people noticed we were up there. It was a total surprise too. My aunt and uncle told me we were staying in one of the new themed suites in the Disneyland hotel and then we went on a tour of NOS and it concluded with a tour of the Dream Suite and ultimate reveal of where we would be staying that night. The atmosphere of the room is amazing and the awe inspiring interior is nothing short of magical. One detail that sticks out in my head and I get reminded of it now every time I ride POC. When you are standing in the plaza and back patio of the suite you can hear the queue music and parrot from the ending scene of POC right before you get back to the loading station. Everything about that trip was beyond any adjective I will ever be able to come up with to describe it. And what is really amazing is that I am one in a handle of people who have ever had the chance to stay there.

Disneyland Challenge Day 04: Your Favorite Tomorrowland Attraction

I think this is a very unpopular opinion but my favorite Tomorrowland attraction is Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters. When I went to the parks yesterday I really did not have much desire going on Space Mountain, as a matter of fact we didn’t go on Space Mountain, but we made sure we got on Astro Blasters. I just love the friendly competition of it and all the hidden tricks to it. There is never much of a line and it’s just an all around enjoyable attraction. It is fair to say that I kick my friends’ butts consistently.

(though there was a transmission error, my score is the 499,200)

Disneyland Challenge Day 04: Your Favorite Tomorrowland Attraction

Though I love a lot of rides in Tomorrowland I have to say that obviously Space Mountain is my favorite attraction in Tomorrowland. It’s such an amazing thrill ride and I always have a smile on my face when I’m riding it whether I’m in the front or in the back. One of my Disneyland goals which has yet to be completed is to ride Space Mountain with the lights on. I hear it’s a whole different ride within itself.

Disneyland Challenge Day 03: Your Favorite Fantasyland Attraction

My favorite Fantasyland Attraction is the Matterhorn. When I was younger this was my favorite attraction to go on. And it still is. When it went down for a few months this past year I was so sad. We then waited two hours on it’s opening day this year. It was the original roller coaster and it is unique to Disneyland which just makes it even more special.

Disneyland Challenge Day 02: Your Favorite Main Street Attraction

My favorite Main Street attraction would be the queue for Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. I love that it is a mini museum on Disneyland’s history with miniature sculptures of the castle and Splash Mountain. I love just going in there and chatting with the cast members about Disneyland and looking at how Disneyland used to be.

Disneyland Challenge Day 01: Your favorite Land

Hmmm well poop this is already really hard. I think my favorite land would have to be Fantasyland.

Though I never really spend that much time in this land it is still my favorite. Everything about it is so quaint. Walking through the castle and seeing King Arthur’s Carousel. The different style of architecture that each building has. I love just being able to walk through it and sing along to the Disney songs being played by the Carousel. It really has some of the original Disney magic that makes Disneyland what it is.

Disneyland Challenge Day 25: My Favorite Picture from the Park

This has got to be my favorite picture of the park. It’s me admiring my idol and my favorite character, The Partners Statue. With my favorite piece of architecture from the park in the background. This came from one of my most favorite trips to Disneyland.

Disneyland Challenge Day 24: My Favorite Disneyland Memory

This has got to be my favorite memory so far (we will see after this summer if it still holds up) I went with two of my sorority sisters who loved hearing about all the disney facts I knew. We rode all of our favorite rides like five times took lots of pictures in front of all the things I love. We also went to DCA and saw World of Color. AMAZING!!

Disneyland Challenge Day 23: Something I collect

This is my small but awesome pin collection. Every trip I buy a pin (sometimes two). I have to look in every store before I buy a pin and I never trade them because I only pick the best ones. I also only buy Mickey Mouse ones, Especially ears. The middle one one opens up and has pictures of Mickey Mouse and Walt, it is my favorite one. I cannot wait to go buy three more on my next trip when I go for three days and stay at the resort!!! I am so excited to expand my collection.

Disneyland Challenge Day 22: My Favorite Store

I know this is in Downtown Disney but this has got to be my favorite store in the resort. I like to call myself a pin collector and I like to purchase a pin on every visit and when I can never decide what pin I want, I stop in this store to look at every single pin. I also found one of my favorite replacement pins in this store that I was not able to find any where else! This store has everything, pixar, princesses, boy disney adult disney, special disney, expensive disney, I want to decorate my house with things from this store. I should just work in this store!

Disneyland Challenge Day 21: Favorite Food or Beverage

I had one of these on my last trip and it was just absolutely amazing!!! I don’t normally eat my pretzels with mustard but this pretzel with mustard on it hit the spot like none other! I bought it at the entrance of Frontierland and it was devoured by the time I got to the Partners Statue. That good!

Disneyland Challenge Day 20: Favorite Restaurant

My favorite restaurant is Club 33! I enjoyed a brunch here a few years ago with my family and it was absolutely amazing! It was so delicious and the whole experience was one I wish to do again. Especially know with so much knowledge of Disney. There was a pasta bar, seafood bar, the dessert was soooo good!!! I want to be back there every chance I get. Many think it is just a door but it is a secretive restaurant, where you must be a member in order to make a reservation, the list is only about 500 people long and they pay THOUSANDS of dollars to be members. The door is painted a specific type of green that is most unnoticeable to the human eye.

Disneyland Fun Fact: Club 33 has a nine-year waiting list (at times, it’s been as long as fouteen years) that caps at 1,000 people. It, too, is totally full.

Disneyland Challenge Day 19: My Favorite Fireworks Spectacular

I am finally caught up

I do not have a favorite show, they are all amazing! It is the hardest thing for me to be at Disneyland and not watch the fireworks. We were waiting for the World of Color and I could hear the fireworks going off at the other park and it made my stomach hurt. I heard the finale and I almost cried because I was not watching it. They know how to do a fireworks show and you know the finale because no one does it like Disney.

Disneyland Fun Fact: The “Remember… Dreams Come True” fireworks display created for Disneyland’s 50th anniversary was the most elaborate ever put on at the park, and its development was so top secret that designers went all the way to China’s Gobi Desert to do the trial run.

Disneyland Challenge Day 18: My Favorite Band

My favorite band at Disneyland is the Disneyland Band. It is so nice walking down main street and hearing them playing classic Disney songs. Like Mary Poppins and such. I cannot help but to sing along with them.

Disneyland Fun Fact: The Disneyland Band was to play for only two week engagement when the park first opened, but proved so popular that it has been “held over” for fifty years.
